Just as the city reopens in phases, NYL is diligently leaning into new operational protocols and procedures to safely reopen one step at a time, guided by our state and local health officials. Starting Wednesday June 17th we are opening up our doors with select changes that are in everyone's highest health interest.
LIMITED IN-STUDIO CLASSES: Initially, select classes will be offered in person. We will add additional classes based on community input. All classes will remain virtual as well moving forward. Still haven't checked out online yoga? Reach out if you needed assistance getting set up.
LIMITED IN-STUDIO CLASS SIZE: The density of in-studio classes will be limited to four students to maintain over six feet between yogis during class. Mat spaces are taped on the floor for your convenience, and teachers will be checking in students directly in the studio room. You are required to pre-register for in-studio classes online prior to coming to the studio. Find yourself waitlisted? You can still join virtually as all of our classes will still be live streamed via Zoom.
FACE MASKS: At this point, we ask that everyone wear a face mask inside the studio until they arrive on the mat to practice in order to minimize exposure. Don't own a face mask yet? We have some for purchase by donation inside the studio.
B.Y.O.M.: Bring Your Own Mat (and props). Please bring your own mat, any props you would like to use, and any drinking water you need. Don't feel like hauling your props to class? Reach out if you are interested in storing your props in a designated cubby, or need to acquire props of your own.
WHAT WE'RE DOING: We've stepped up our pristine studio another notch and have added a deep clean and disinfection with EPA registered disinfectants before and after each class. The restroom will have paper towels instead of cloth towels. Recognizing the CDC's emphasis on the importance of air ventilation, NYL is prioritizing air flow by opening the studio's balcony door for air flow during class and using ceiling fans. Have a suggestion? We are open to any feedback regarding the health of our community.
If you or anyone in your household is sick or showing any signs of COVID-19 (such as fever), please stay home! Doing so is showing love for yourself and love for our community. Additionally, there will be hand sanitizer available upon entering the studio, and socially distanced, touch free ways to navigate your new in-studio routine. Come enjoy the in-studio experience with peace of mind and a heart full of community.
