Therapeutic Breathwork

with PsyBreath

Sunday February 18th, 2024

1:30pm - 3:00pm

In this 90-minute conscious breathing workshop, we will use lightly activating breaths and varying breath holds, to induce physiological changes in the body. These changes in turn, will allow you to deeply connect with bodily sensations and dissolve holding patterns. Most healing work focuses on the mental realm. A lot of our trauma, however, is stored in the body. Therapeutic breathwork allows for direct access to the body and gets to the root of most issues. Whether you're new to breathwork or an experienced practitioner, this session is a great opportunity to connect with the power of your breath.

About the teacher:
I'm Dehan Elcin. Born and raised in Istanbul, Turkey, I moved to the United States in 2013. Breathwork has profoundly transformed my life, leading me to found PsyBreath to share this practice with others. I began my facilitation training at Transformations USA in 2019 and am now a Level II Certified Therapeutic Breathwork facilitator. Beyond guiding group and individual sessions, I'm working toward a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience at Tulane University. There, I research the neuroscience and therapeutic outcomes of breathwork. My aim is to meld scientific insight with the spiritual essence of therapeutic breathwork.

Sound Healing with Caroline Chiesa

Friday February 23rd

6:00pm - 7:00pm

A sound bath is a deeply immersive, full-body listening experience. This is an opportunity for deep healing and relaxation...all that you need is an open heart and an open mind. During this hour-long session, you will lie down in a comfortable position and meditate to the ethereal sounds of crystal bowls, chimes, harps, and voice. The gentle yet powerful waves of sound synchronize with your brainwaves, promoting the release of tension and restoring the body's natural rhythm.

Because deep relaxation is the intention of this experience, your comfort is of the highest importance. Blankets and bolsters will be provided in the studio during the session for your comfort.

Iceland Retreat Info Session

Virtual Monday 2/19 7:30pm

In Person Thursday 2/22 7:30pm

Are you interested in joining us for a spiritual adventure through Northern Iceland? This is a space to come ask your questions, and hear what all the hype is about.

Iceland is known as "the land of ice and fire." Volcanoes, glaciers, geothermal springs, tectonic plates; this is where the points of the world meet and where ethereal magic occurs. The ability to hold opposites makes this a place of great transformation. Whether you are a newbie on your spiritual journey or have been walking this road for lifetimes, Iceland presents itself as a catalyst for internal change. By utilizing the practice of yoga to connect to ourselves, and the practice of hiking to connect to the external world, we hope to set into motion the changes we wish to create in our internal and outer worlds.

This bucket list adventure is a memory in the making! It is hard to guarantee a northern lights viewing, but a week in Northern Iceland during a season of high auroral activity is as close as you can get. The night of highest activity will include an excursion to peak viewing locations.

Monday night's session will be held in our Zoom Room, meeting ID & pswd 5043277483

Introduction to Ayurveda

Sunday March 3rd

12:00pm - 2:00pm

Ayurveda is India's 5,000-year-old traditional system of health and wellness and is currently experiencing a great resurgence worldwide. Ayurveda translates to "knowledge of life", and is a fascinating study of our mind and body and how it harmonizes with the natural world around us. In its essence, Ayurveda provides you with the knowledge of who you are and how to live your life in harmony and is entirely holistic. Its adherents strive to create harmony between the body, mind, and spirit, maintaining that this balance prevents illness, treats acute conditions, and contributes to a long and healthy life. Ayurveda is unique in its practices as it treats each person as unique with individual needs.

Through this workshop, we will explore the origins of Ayurveda, the doshas (unique blends of physical, emotional, and mental characteristics), the 5 main elements (Pancha Maha Bhutas), and how these are all present in our everyday lives.

This bucket list adventure is a memory in the making! It is hard to guarantee a northern lights viewing, but a week in Northern Iceland during a season of high auroral activity is as close as you can get. The night of highest activity will include an excursion to peak viewing locations.
